GBH is proud to bring together a roaster and brewer that we love working with, for a special one-off Uppers & Downers case study featuring a progressive tasting of coffees, beer, and a resulting series of experimental coffee beers.
Brewery Bhavana in Raleigh, North Carolina launched this Spring, bringing their obsession with saison to fruition. At Chicago's Uppers & Downers Hangover Party they brought along a trial run of their Single Origin Coffee Saison, made with Counter Culture coffee, and it was a huge hit in the studio. The delicate aromatics, texture, and balance of fruit, acid, and funk made for an enlightening experience in coffee beers.
Since then, we’ve worked with Brewery Bhavana and Counter Culture to develop an event that pushes the collaboration further, and brings you, the drinker, through a tasting of the original coffees, the base saison recipe, and four variations on the theme that show off coffee origin, extraction techniques, and blending. It’s sure to be a great time and a truly unique experience, for beer- and coffee-lovers alike.
