Good Beer Hunting

"They don't call it ‘Big Sky Country’ for nothing." That's what Ms. Betty said to me as I waited to board a flight to Great Falls. I never thought I'd find my way to Montana, but here I am, capturing one last picture of a sky that seems endless.

Beer Now, a conference for beer journalists, writers, podcasters, and influencers, is what brought me to this picturesque land. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but the rushing waterfalls, bubbling springs, burnt-orange mountains, and pale, green rolling hills take me by surprise. The views look like a computer screensaver come to life.

Despite being a shutterbug, I find myself putting down the camera after a few snaps and opting to experience the scenery with my own two eyes—taking in Great Falls unfiltered, and using as many senses as I can to experience the beauty, feels important. I think I understand how Meriwether Lewis once felt: unencumbered by modern technology, and confronted with the unbelievable.
