The more I travel (which is a lot these days) the more I find myself looking for a more personal, outside-the-scene time with good friends I've made along the way. My most recent overnight in Burlington, Vermont was exactly that. Eshewing the breweries and bars for a minute, we holed up in my friend Matt Canning's kitchen (concierge from Hotel Vermont, otherwise known as Big Silky) for some homemade short ribs and pasta, and some beautiful beers. And reggae music? That part was weird, but hey, Burlington.
