Tomorrow night, the Goose Island crew releases a new Fulton & Wood beer, the Rasselbock — a frankenstein of a recipe that blends the grain bill and yeast profiles of a Dopplebock, Rogenbier, and a Bavarian Weiss, creating a beer with clove-like aromatics, a hint of banana, and a dry rye finish.
For each release, they tap Chicago designer Ian Law, who creates beautiful hand-drawn posters for the event. At The Beer Bistro in West Town, Ian shared some of his original sketch work with me, and I was struck by the precision in his hand lettering work for Rasselbock. Now just wait until you see the horned rabbit with wings that'll be jumping out of the bushes behind it.
